Follow Banor’s recipe tutorial and speak to Nola Berg. When she talks about competition, choosing “We’re all in this together.” can award Beer. Look for Recipe Discovered: Beer, then follow the objective to return to Banor.
Finish quests and grow venues
Recipes also arrive as task and level rewards. Examples you can recognize in the notification feed include:

Rewards belong to the particular venue or objective. Check your own notifications rather than applying one venue’s reward list to every business.
Try dining out
Eating at another restaurant can lead to a recipe discovery. A meal of Cola Chicken at Downtown Tavern, for example, has resulted in Sake Maki.
This is not a guaranteed way to buy a particular recipe. The discovered recipe can differ from the dish you ordered, and repeated meals may give no new recipe. Do not spend your whole budget expecting a fixed number of meals to guarantee a result.
Make the new recipe usable
After a discovery, check the recipe list, add the dish to your menu, and prepare its ingredients and processing equipment. Expand red menu warnings to see what is missing.
If the kitchen cannot serve it, use the ingredient and equipment guides before buying more stock.
