Choose the right cleanup action
| What needs cleaning | What to do |
|---|---|
| Rubbish on the floor | Look down at it and use the cleaning interaction |
| Plates or bowls on a table | Pick them up and carry them to a placed sink |
| Rotten Food in storage | Transfer it out or let a cleaner handle storage cleanup |
A decorative bin is not a prerequisite for these manual actions.
Clear floor rubbish
Walk close to the rubbish and aim down until the cleaning prompt appears. Use the key shown by the game; PC tutorials use E. Let the cleaning action finish, then check the same spot before moving on.
If rubbish is hard to target, look close to the floor and around furniture edges. This can help when the object is partly hidden.
Take dirty dishes to the sink
Pick up the plate or bowl left by a customer. Carry it to a sink placed inside the restaurant and use its interaction prompt. Finish handling the dish before picking up the next one.
Keep the route from tables to the washing area open. If staff repeatedly walk to an older sink, check that washing point and the furniture around it. Moving a blocked fixture can help diagnose the route they are trying to use.
Divide staff duties
Waiters take orders, deliver food and clear tables. Cleaners handle floor rubbish and inventory cleanup. Check shifts and workload: a worker busy with earlier service tasks may not get to cleaning promptly.
If workers stall, inspect narrow furniture gaps and the route to the sink. Try a small layout change and observe the next worker trip before rearranging the whole restaurant.
Update #5 fixes trash tasks left behind after cleaning staff were fired. At the next day change, the game queues those cleanup tasks again for staff to handle.
Remove spoiled stock separately
Floor cleaning does not remove an inventory entry. Open the refrigerator or cupboard and transfer Rotten Food to your backpack. You can take it to a vendor or use a greenhouse composter; see the Rotten Food guide.
